For 1976 the single-cylinder CB125 was updated as the J (still sold as the S in the US), growing to 124 cc with a two-piece cylinder head and a larger carburettor. This version had a front disc brake and flatter bars, making it a little sportier than the earlier S. It stayed a light, economical beginner's bike.
